Alyson O'Connor

At what age did you begin dancing?

I began Dancing when I was four years old.

What genre of dance is your favorite and why?

My favorite genre of dance would have to be tap!  I have always loved tap and the way I can express myself with the steps.  I love the rhythms, style and how there are many ways to portray the sound through the music.

What have you learned from JDC?

JDC has taught me the importance of teamwork and how to work with the other dancers to achieve a goal.  JDC has also helped me to become more confident and how to push myself to be the best that I can be.

What are you going to miss most about JDC?

I will miss everything! The teachers who have shaped me into a better dancer, the friends who have supported me and the competition weekends and season which is my favorite time of the year!

What are your plans after high school?

After high school I will attend a four year college majoring in Exercise Science.  My ultimate goal is to become a pediatric Physical Therapist.

What are your hopes for the future?

In the future I hope to have a successful career that I enjoy, while also being able to travel the world and follow a path that makes me happy.
